Leanne was born in Alice Springs and grew up living at Mulga Bore outstation with her family. Mulga Bore is located north east of Alice Springs on the Sandover Highway. She is now living in Engawala.Leanne attended Mulga Bore School and Central Secondary School in Alice Springs.
Leanne’s other family members are artists as well. She has been watching her families do painting since she was very young. Leanne was taught how to paint by her grandmother.
Leanne paints Bush Plums in most of her artworks. She paints on canvas, wooden objects, ceramics and she also started painting the metal Megafauna figures for the Megafauna Museum in Alice Springs. She has sold art both on my community and in town.
Her favourite type of art is batik and she learnt to do that at Batchelor Institute in Alice Springs. Leanne loves doing art and wants to continue her courses at Batchelor because she has learnt many new techniques. She has already completed a Certificate 2 in Visual Arts.
Leanne was one of 11 Engawala Artists who wrote and illustrated a children's book titled "Tim's Journey Back In Time" written in English and Anmatjerr about the 8 million year old Megafauna fossils found at Alcoota near Engawala Community.
