Brenda Tilmouth

Brenda was born in Alice Springs Hospital and has lived in Engawala all her life. She was taught how to paint by her mother Joy who is the community elder in Engawala. Everyone in her family are painters as well. Brenda started painting when she was 16 years old. She got involved in the Engawala Art Centre in 2020.

Brenda paints about women's ceremony and bush tucker using acrylic paints on canvas. She also makes native seed jewellery.

Brenda works part time as a sports and recreation officer and enjoys painting at the Engawala Art Centre where her work is for sale, she also sells at Northern Territory markets and exhibitions and through several local retail outlets.
