Janet Tilmouth

Janet was born near the Alcoota Station where she lived for 10 years with her family, later moving to Engawala to live. Janet went to school at Yirara College in Alice Springs completing year 10. She was introduced to painting by her aunty at an early age.

Over the years she has continued to paint, joining the Engawala Art Centre ladies, where she paints most days where her work is for sale, she also sells at Northern Territory markets and exhibitions and through several local retail outlets.  She paints bush medicine and river gum leaves  She does wood burning and enjoys sewing.

Janet has sold her artworks at the National Indigenous Art Fair in Sydney and in 2025 her painting "Bush Medicine" was chosen for exhibition at the Fair.
