Kirsty Tilmouth

Kirsty Tilmouth was born in Alice Springs Hospital. She grew up living in Engawala Community two hours north-east of Alice Springs which is on the Plenty Highway. She is a self taught artist learning just by watching her mum and aunties paint at the old Art Centre. Kirsty’s family are all artists.

Kirsty regularly paints at the new Engawala Art Centre where her work is for sale, she also sells at the NT markets fortnightly in Alice Springs and through several local retail outlets. Kirsty’s artworks can also be found on the art centre website.

Kirsty’s artwork themes are Bush Tucker, Bush Medicine and Women’s Body Painting. She also paints onto wood and ceramics. She goes out and collects niniti seeds and gum nuts to create native jewellery to sell at the local art centre.

She is currently studying Visual Arts at the batchelor institute of indigenous tertiary education in Alice Springs to gain more skills and techniques for what she love doing. She has completed Certificate 2 and now onto Certificate 3. She already did acrylic on canvas, screen printing, working with clay and batik.
