This painting shows the life cycle of bush medicine seeds found across Central Australia. These special seeds are carried by the wind across the land, drifting over the sandy ground until the big rains arrive.
When the rain falls, the seeds come to life. They grow into green leafy plants and grow tiny yellow flowers. These plants are known as healing bush medicine plants.
After the rain, the local Aboriginal women go out into the bush and collect the fresh green leaves. They crush the leaves and boil them. These medicines help with healing and keep their the community strong and well.
