This is a painting about Aboriginal people who live in remote communities in Central Australia and when they go out hunting for bush tucker.
The men look for kangaroo, emu’s and bush turkey and the women and children go in search for bush fruits like bush banana and bush tomato. Women also dig for honey ants and witchetty grubs. The brown curved shapes in this painting represent women sitting out in the bush collecting the food. There is a lot of bush tucker out in country and Aboriginal people have been taught by their elder on how to find it. This is how our elders stayed healthy and survived out bush. It is important we keep our culture strong and pass this knowledge on to the younger generations.
