This painting shares the story of Aboriginal women from remote Central Australia, passing down knowledge through ceremony and connection to Country.

In preparation for a special dancing ceremony, the women walk through the bush, looking for what they need. They collect soft white feathers from the cockatoo and ochre from the ground. The white and orange dots shows the earthy ochre they use for painting their bodies. The white oval shape are the smooth rocks the women use for grinding the ochre. The curved shape are the women sitting down with their dancing sticks.

When the younger women get ready, the older women sing a special ceremonial song.

This painting shows the women walking together through the land collecting the things they need for the ceremony.
