This painting shows a bush medicine leaf that grows in Central Australia. The leaf is used by Aboriginal people to help heal sickness and pain.

After it rains tiny pink/purple flowers bloom and the leaves turn green, the Aboriginal women go out onto Country to find this leaf. They collect the green leaves, crush and boil them in water to make a natural medicine. The medicine heals coughs, colds and irritated skin.

This knowledge was taught to them by their mothers and grandmothers, and it has been passed down for many years.
