This artwork shows bush berries being collected by Aboriginal women from Ruby Salt Bush that are found in the Central Desert Region. In the local language it is called Ntjaminya. It grows everywhere around my community because it is my totem and it represents my home Alcoota/Engawala. The berries are small and tastes sweet and salty. The colours of the ripe berries are red, orange yellow and when it’s not ready to be eaten they are green. It is a native plant that grows well in the desert.
