This painting tells a story about Aboriginal people who live in many different communities across the Central Desert. Even though these communities are spread far apart, the people still come together to talk, share ideas, and make plans for the future.
The painting shows footprints coming in from every direction. These footprints represent families and community leaders travelling from their own Country to meet in one place. They come together to talk about what is happening in their communities and how things can be improved. They meet with Land Councils, Shire Councils and government agencies to make sure their voices are heard.
In the centre of the painting are curved U shapes. These shapes show the people sitting on the ground in a meeting circle. Sitting like this is an important part of culture. It is a way of showing respect, listening carefully and making decisions together.
This artwork celebrates the strength of community. It shows how people from across the desert stay connected, support each other and work together to keep their communities strong.
