This painting is a story about women collecting bush medicine. The women are represented by the curved shapes and they have a digging stick beside them. The plant grows in dry rocky ground and has tiny yellow flowers. The Aboriginal women living in Central Australia go out into the bush after a big rain when the leaves of the bush medicine plant turn green. The women pick the leaves, crush them and boil them to make healing medicine that can be used to rub on skin to heal pains, coughs and flu. Aboriginal families have been using this healing medicine for generations.
