This is a painting about Aboriginal women living in remote Central Desert Communities and when they go out looking for bush tucker. They often go out into the bush after a big rain when fruits start to grow. The curved shapes represent women sitting on the ground collecting bush tomato’s, their digging sticks are beside them and a coolamon, a wooden bowl used in the old days to collect food into. The vine with yellow fruit on it are ripe bush tomato’s.
Aboriginal women learned from their mothers and aunties how to find food from the land and they will teach their daughters and nieces.
